Besides four days of science, OAT 2026 is a chance to meet the global oat community. Here you will find where each event takes place and what to wear. Our goal is simple: we want everyone to feel comfortable and look their best.

Our first evening together, to say hello, meet old friends and make new ones.

Come as you are! Many of you will arrive after long hours of travel, so please relax and wear whatever feels comfortable. The most important thing is to be there.
Tuesday, November 17
Field Day
Freire, La AraucaníaBus departs from Hotel Enjoy Pucón at 08:30
Freire is about 1.5 hours by bus from Pucón. We will spend the whole day in the field: talks under a large tent, lunch included, and visits to plots with oats and other crops, plus field and machinery demonstrations. Buses will return to Pucón every 30 minutes as needed, starting between 16:30 and 17:00.

Outdoor casual
Jeans and sneakers or comfortable walking shoes. We'll be out in the field all day, so be ready for a bit of dirt. Leave your nice shoes at the hotel!

This is the night to look your best, but comfort comes first. Please don't fill your suitcase with clothes you'll wear only once. Trust us, you'll want that space for Chilean wine, crafts and souvenirs!
Be Ready for Possible Rain
November is usually a beautiful month in Pucón, but this year El Niño has brought heavy rain to southern Chile, and it may continue into December. Please pack a rain jacket, and a warm layer for the evenings is a good idea too.
